Natural white grey/purple paper-thin translucent shell similar to the capiz. Suitable for decorative floristry work, window displays, and photographic work. Background: Window Pane Shells (Placuna) are related to oysters and scallops can be found throughout the Indo Pacific region, where they are frequently cultivated both for their meat and for the shells.

Placuna shell in History: The natural shells are so thin as to be translucent and were used as windowpanes, although today the shells are more frequently seen made into lampshades and other decorative objects.
